In our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program we are focused on self-defense skills and safety and want our students to learn that their practice should protect themselves and their partners. BJJ allows for a fun atmosphere full of high-fives and hard work and, when combined with learning potent self-defense skills, is really tough to beat! A martial art that can be effective even for a smaller student, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu can be practiced by students young and old and can be really good exercise even if the self-defense aspect isn’t your first priority.

Progressing through the ranks is a steady process with adult students usually achieving a black belt in 8-10 years with consistent practice and younger students taking a little longer but with constant reinforcement along the way and a belt system for junior grapplers that is appropriate for their age. On average each belt colour takes between 1-2 years depending on attendance and focus which lets students focus on the subject matter, not belts and stripes (though they are really fun to get!)

Stay safe

Safety against an attacker or safety in the dojo, we train to optimize well-being wherever you are.

is this for me?

Fitness, discipline, comeraderie, self-defense and self-confidence are all on the menu when you practice Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and who wouldn’t want that! Like any other martial art, you will get out of it what you put into it but there is no shortage of good to come out so why not give it a try!
